Trust

After a lead discussion on Providence last tuesday, I wanted to take note of two things as we let the Spirit work through us. The first was Bob voicing his wife Kelly's focus on one word, that which was TRUST, and then Charles pulls up his daily devotional with it's theme of, that's right, TRUST. This was followed by a quick update on Ken's trip to the DR, and in his TRUST of following, and the Spirit led. A truly inspirational morning! I had also trusted Howard to set up a blog for us, and sure enough, bam, Howard comes through, so thanks to Howard! We are off and running, let us run the race before us!!!

Great kickoff to our new set up yesterday morning.  You will see several emails from me over the next few days, I promise they are not spam, just emails on some things our group is working on, as the Spirit works on and through us.  I am awaiting an update from Tom on his arrival and beginning in China.  Please keep Tom, Jamie, and the boys in your prayers.

The first is my commitment to you all to have some more opportunities to work on our roles as father's, with events planned through this year with our son's, and our families.  Each quarter this year there will be an event coordinated by one of us in the group.  Each event is intended to let us join together socially for some fun, and deepen our relationships.  If there are some other men out there who you are interested in inviting, please do so.

That said, I am listing the events below.  I have the first one, Chip has the second one, I am looking for volunteers for the 3rd and 4th quarters.

Q1 -- GforceKarts - January 27th (Frank)
Q2 -- Richmond Squirrels (Chip)
Q3 -- ? (Your name here)
Q4 -- ? (or, Your name here)

For our first event, we will meet at Gforce Karts at 6pm on Friday January 27th.  Age requirement is 8 years old or older.  Basic setup, If we can get 20 people to commit, we can reserve the track for our group, and run the carts for an hour.  We can get three runs of 10 laps each, cost is approx. $42 per person.

Afterward, we will head over to Pronto Pizzeria and feast.

Please let me know if you are interested and how many will be coming with you.  If we get a big number, we can likely get the track for longer.
